I don't listen to a lot of music, but there are a few people that I really like to listen to. John Mayer is one of them. There is something about a guy who can sing 'Your Body is a Wonderland" to a bunch of screaming girls, and then turn around a do a song like 'Stop This Train' that makes me cry every time I listen to it because the lyrics and melody are so good. So from time to time, I stop by his website to see what he is up to, and I don't mean to find out whether he is dating Jessica Simpson or not.
If you haven't seen his blog, and are interested in reading great content by someone who is an exceptional writer, check it out. His post on Global Warming is very thought provoking and really got me thinking about something...
Do we have to do something 100% for it to make a difference?
I mean, if you go on a diet, and are eating half of the amount of junk you used to eat, does that count? If you never exercised at all, and you want to work out every day, but you really work out 4 times a week, what is wrong with that?
The point is, if you make a small change in the right direction, you are still changing in the right direction.
I think bloggers can fall into this trap as well. Most people start out with a lot of enthusiasm and gusto, and say they are going to post every day. If they do, that is cool. But what if they only post once a week? Does that make them a 'Bad Blogger? I don't think so, it means that they are taking small steps in the right direction, and you never know how far a small change in the right direction can go...
Woof!
